Until the late 1980’s, Alabang was seen only as wide stretches of land utilized as cow pasture fields, it being the location of the Alabang Stock Farm, south of Manila. A large portion of Ayala-Alabang includes the Ayala-Alabang Village, Alabang Town Center, El Molito, and Madrigal Business Park. In 1982 Ayala-Alabang was declared a separate Barangay taking on a new name, Barangay New Alabang.
