“San Franz” or “San Frans” is the abbreviated colloquial moniker of San Francisco, capital town of the province of Agusan del Sur in upper Mindanao. San Franz is acknowledged as the “Commercial Capital of Agusan del Sur” owing to its enviable central location at the crossroads of the surrounding provinces of Agusan del Norte (northwest), Surigao del Sur (northeast), Bukidnon (west) and Davao del Norte (south).   For these outlying neighbors, San Franz serves as the primary distribution point of goods and merchandise as well as a refreshing oasis for commercial and service centers, including financial institutions.
